After Lucas Havrisik struggled in Giants win, Rams bring back Brett Maher before playoffs.

Just before the playoffs, the Los Angeles Rams are switching up their kicker.

After Sunday's 26-25 victory against the New York Giants, the Rams waived Lucas Havrisik and signed Brett Maher, who had previously played for the Rams this season.

Havrisik failed to convert two extra points during Sunday's game at MetLife Stadium.

The Rams used Maher for the first seven games of the season before cutting ties with him following their October 22nd loss to the Pittsburgh Steelers. In the match, Maher failed to convert two extra points and a field goal. During that first period, he was unable to convert any field goals.

After going undrafted out of Arizona last year, Havrisik had brief stints with the Cleveland Browns and the Indianapolis Colts before signing with the Los Angeles Rams. Of his twenty field goals, fifteen were successful, while three were unsuccessful.

Despite missing two field goals from 40-49 yards, Maher was flawless from within 40 yards out.

With Sunday's game against the 49ers in San Francisco, Maher will have one more opportunity to get back into the swing of things before the playoffs begin.

With their victory on Sunday, the Rams secured a berth in the wild card round. With a victory over the 49ers, they will secure the sixth spot in the NFC.
