(Part-2) Oregon's Bo Nix breaks single-season completion percentage record in Fiesta Bowl win over Liberty.

Nix completed roughly 72% of his throws for 3,600 yards and 29 touchdowns with seven interceptions last season.

He improved in 2023 as Oregon chased the Pac-12 title. The Ducks outscored their opponents by nearly 27 points per game, and only undefeated Washington beat Oregon.

The 2024 NFL Draft may draft Nix first after his excellent Oregon career.

The Flames (13-1) made their first New Year's Six bowl game when SMU defeated Tulane in the AAC title game.

Despite leading the Flames into conference championship weekend, the Green Wave fell at home to the Mustangs. Without starting QB Preston Stone, SMU couldn't beat unbeaten Liberty, and the Flames finished at the top of the Group of Five.

Unfortunately, Liberty's prospects against the Ducks were suspect. The Flames had the poorest schedule in the nation with no Power Five opponents. Liberty gave up at least 25 points in seven of their 13 wins and about 23 points per game.

However, Monday's blowout doesn't slow football's progress. Liberty entered the FBS in 2018 and has won all six seasons. Because of its willingness to spend money on football, Lynchburg hired former Coastal Carolina coach Jamey Chadwell to succeed Hugh Freeze following the 2022 season.

Liberty might make the 12-team postseason in 2024 with another perfect season because to its massive resources and poor Conference USA.
